How does the free tier work?
Starter is permanently free — no trial, no credit card. You're limited to 1 agent and 5,000 events per month, with 24-hour data retention. Upgrade anytime if you need more.
What counts as an "event"?
Each API call your agent makes that hits Meridian's ingestion endpoint counts as one event. A single agent task may generate 5–50 events depending on how many tools it calls. Typical agents use 200–800 events per day.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated to the day. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. No lock-in, no penalty.
What happens if I exceed my event limit?
We don't cut off your agents. You'll get an email alert when you're at 80% of your limit, and again at 100%. Your data continues flowing — we just ask you to upgrade before the month ends.
Do I need to install anything?
No agents to install. Meridian works with any agent that can send an HTTP POST — just point your agent's telemetry to our ingestion endpoint with your API key. OpenTelemetry-native agents configure in minutes.
Is there a trial for Pro or Scale?
Pro and Scale both come with a 14-day trial — no credit card needed. You get full access to all features, then you decide whether to continue. If you don't upgrade, you fall back to Starter (free) automatically.
